Finally purchased a great mailbox. This box is very well made. After looking at various mailboxes at different places I chose the letterbox. Great mailbox. I attached it to an existing post that was shortened to accommodate the required height from the street surface. Wrapping it in wood made it look great!
I thought the quality of the mailbox was excellent. The only issue I had was the door with the mail slot sometimes would not stay closed. I think it was because the mailbox is slightly at an angle on hillside. Jayco was kind enough to follow up by sending me some magnetic strips to put on the inside of the door to keep it closed. Excellent service and very helpful.
I bought this to replace my 20-year old Armadillo mailbox. The only reason I needed to replace the mailbox was because my neighbor had his sprinklers spraying on my mailbox for many years, and I never noticed until about a year ago. The rust was too far gone so salvage the damages, but the mailbox was still holding up. Regardless, I just decided to get a new one for curb appeal.
Had to buy a replacement lock because it was drilled out by a tweaker. He tried hard to get into it, but never did. Pried, grinded, drilled and never got in. Bent the box back into shape, replaced the lock, repainted it, and now it's as good as new. Letter lockers are the best. You get what you pay for.
